Sunday, Feb 21 our first SOLEMN High Mass

On Sunday, Feb 21 our first SOLEMN High Mass will be celebrated at Queen of Peace at 1 PM. This highly ceremonial Mass features three sacred ministers—priest, deacon, and subdeacon—as well as master of ceremonies, thurifer, acolytes, and torchbearers. This liturgy probably will be the first Solemn High Latin Mass celebrated in the diocese in several decades.

ALSO ... the liturgy will feature the Chamber Singers of Clarion University, who will sing a 16th century Mass by Tomas Luis de Victoria entitled O Quam Gloriosum (“O How Glorious”). Sacred motets by Palestrina and other masters will be sung as well.

If you haven't made it to High Mass in Patton yet ... this is one you want to attend!

A "potluck" buffet luncheon will be held in the church hall immediately following the Mass. Those who come are requested to bring a covered dish. If you need food ideas, you may contact Christen at piroch@atlanticbb.net or 814-535-3300.

Celebrated in accordance with the expressed wishes of Pope Benedict XVI,

with the official support of Bishop Joseph Adamec and Archabbot Douglas Nowicki, OSB.

Hold fast to the traditions you have received ... ” -- 2 Thess. 2:15
